
About Abigale
Abigale Hobbs is a mezzo-soprano based in Philadelphia, PA. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Temple University where she was awarded a Graduate Assistantship and is currently studying under mezzo-soprano Dr. Kathryn Leemhuis.
This past Fall, Hobbs made her Temple Opera Theater debut as Madame de la Haltiere in Massenet's Cendrillon
In 2024, Hobbs spent the summer as an Ader Emerging Artist with Charlottesville Opera. During her time as an Ader Emerging Artist, she sang the role of Ethel Toffelmeir and covered Zaneeta Shinn in The Music Man, as well as singing in the ensemble for Donezetti’s L’elisir d’Amore.
In 2025 and 2023, Hobbs was selected as an Emerging Artist with the Seagle Festival, where she performed the roles of Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof and Petra in A Little Night Music. This upcoming summer of 2025, she will return to debut the title role of Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen as well as Edith in Pirates of Penzance.
During her time at Texas Tech University, Hobbs performed the role of Sesto in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito and La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. She was awarded a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with Voice Concentration.
Hobbs holds many oratorio credits including Alto Soloist in Handel's Messiah, Haydn’s The Creation, and Mozart's Requiem in D Minor with the Lubbock Chorale and Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in Lubbock, Texas. She will make her debut as Alto Soloist in Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill as well as Alto Soloist in Reena Esmail's This Love Between Us with the Temple Concert Choir.
